On June 2, in a special display case in the Salle De Gaulle of the Musée de l’Ordre de la Libération at the Hôtel National des Invalides, the silver-bound case decorated with a vermeil and enamel cross containing editions from 1943 to 1946 of the Compagnons de la Libération yearbook was unveiled to the general public.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the patrons who made the acquisition of this unique object possible, namely Dassault Aviation, represented by its CEO Éric Trappier, as well as Cartier, restorer of the case, and the Société des Amis du Musée de l’Ordre.
The case, presented to General de Gaulle by the Ordre de la Libération in January 1945, was acquired by pre-emption on December 16, 2024, at the “De Gaulle. Une succession pour l’Histoire”, at Artcurial in Paris, with the support of the Société des Amis du Musée de l’Ordre de la Libération.
Dassault Aviation is proud and honored to support the Ordre de la Libération, of which it has been a patron since 2020, through the acquisition of this unique object, which will thus be put on public display.
