Here’s something for purists and art lovers in general! From June 19 to 22 in Paris, a high-profile exhibition and sale pay tribute to the world of Buck Danny.

Collectors beware! From Friday, June 19 to Monday, June 22, 2025, Galerie l’Œil Bleu, in the Marais district of Paris (3rd arrondissement), is offering an unprecedented plunge into the world of “Buck Danny”, with an exhibition and sale of 12 Art Strips available in several formats. These posters feature some of the comic strip’s most iconic images, from 1954 to 1970 (volumes 11 to 36), with a retro chromatic makeover and contemporary framing. This is an opportunity to get your hands on one, or even several, atypically beautiful vintage decorative elements. Two prestigious finishes are available: Plexiglas on aluminum-Dibond or Hahnemühle Fine Art paper on aluminum-Dibond.

On sale are representations of the characters and aircraft that have contributed to the legend of the famous comic strip: the main protagonist, of course, shown alongside a Grumman F9F Cougar, the dangerous Lady X at the controls of a Hawker Hunter facing a Super Sabre, as well as Grumman F-11 Tigers, B-36 Peacemakers and more.

A 300-copy boxed set of the exhibition’s visuals (30×20 cm, on fine art paper) is also available for sale, along with an original 16-page booklet tracing the comic strip’s beginnings – and as a bonus, a numbered certificate signed by Philippe Charlier and Michèle Hubinon, son and daughter respectively of scriptwriter Jean-Michel Charlier and illustrator Victor Hubinon, creators of the “Adventures of Buck Danny”. It’s a fitting tribute to a hero of the 9th Art who is now almost 80 years old – his adventures first appeared in 1947 in the weekly “Spirou”.

Exhibition. Buck Danny Art Strips (on the initiative of Jean-Louis Dauger, founder of Art Dynamics, and Editions Dupuis). From June 19 to 22, 2025. Opening Thursday, June 19, 6 p.m. Galerie L’Œil bleu, 32 rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth, 75003 Paris. Admission free.
