In its March-April 2026 issue, “Piloter Mag” spotlights the facilities across France that house aircraft from the Dassault family.

To mark the release of issue 116 of “Piloter Mag” magazine, the editorial team undertook an extensive review of the French Air and Space Force’s facilities across the country. We begin with the French “Top Gun,” which is none other than the “Weapons School,” housed at the Military Aviation Expertise Center at Air Base (BA) 118 in Mont-de-Marsan, in the Landes department. Our editorial team offers a comprehensive look at the seasoned pilots destined to become the elite of the air force, at the controls of the Rafale. Another French military base housing Dassault aircraft is Solenzara (in the department of Southern Corsica), which the editorial team visited during the assembly of a Reaper drone, whose use is redefining the contours of France’s air strategy.

Also featured in this spring issue: a guided tour of the Hérault-Montpellier-Occitanie Flying Club, and a look at the future of low-cost airlines (which account for one-third of global air traffic), a closer look at regulations—including the RNP-AR procedure (which stands for “Required Navigation Performance – Authorization Required”), which allows an aircraft to fly along a narrow corridor—and a feature on the ideal cruising speed for commercial aircraft… Not to mention the usual sections, such as news, historical retrospectives, and more.
