Since 2014, Dassault Aviation has organized the Dassault UAV Challenge, an annual intercollegiate student competition open to students at engineering schools and universities, centered on a common goal: to design, automate, and optimize a drone in order to gain insight into the challenges faced by an aircraft manufacturer.

Organized into mixed teams of 2 to 6 students per school, competitors will need to draw on skills such as model aircraft design, automation, programming, electronics, and machine learning—as well as project and team management—throughout the challenge.

After several weeks of selection, the Dassault UAV Challenge spans more than six months for design, development, and testing, followed by two days of competition for the finalists over a weekend next May.

To conclude the competition, a unique, immersive, and unforgettable day is organized in honor of the winning team.
