The 16th edition of the “20,000 Leagues Above Earth” fair will be held at the Amiens-Glisy Airfield on May 11 and 12, 2019. This is a family event showcasing a number of local aviation activities.
The theme for 2019 is aviation events that took place in years ending in ‘9’, starting with 1889. The crossing of the English Channel in 1909 by Louis Blériot in his Blériot XI airplane will be a key focus. On the second day, visitors can enjoy a free concert performed by a one hundred-strong choir singing a collection of Johnny Hallyday songs.
The different activities on offer will take place in six different areas, some of which will be dedicated to the world of aviation and others to exhibitions. Offering something for both children and adults alike, these two spaces will give visitors the opportunity to take to the skies for the first time or to view vintage aircraft. Art lovers can also browse the gallery of aviation-inspired paintings.
Staying true to tradition, there will be an aviation-themed raffle.
