For its 24th edition, the Le Rêve d’Icare air show returns to Royan Beach, in the Gironde Estuary, with this year’s theme centered on space. June 3–7, 2026.
Calling all future members of the Air and Space Force! Le Rêve d’Icare, the Atlantic Coast’s premier aviation event, returns for its 24th edition, which promises to be the most comprehensive and festive yet. From Wednesday, June 3, to Sunday, June 7, join us on Royan’s beach and throughout the city for an event promoting aviation, with Dassault Aviation as one of many partners—various regional schools will be in attendance. The event, which has been held since 1989 and now takes place every two years, promises five days of exciting festivities.
On the ground, there will be numerous booths (including interactive workshops), musical performances (such as a concert by the Air Force Band, based at BA 106 in Bordeaux-Mérignac, on Wednesday), an inflatable show (Ecce Homo), hot air balloon launches on Friday evening, a “sunset” performance by the Alternative Duo aerobatic team and the Phénix of the French Air and Space Force (AAE) on Saturday—“9:45 p.m. local time,” the organizers specify! Also worth noting are exhibitions, such as the one on women’s roles in military aviation, and a total area of 3,200 m² of hands-on workshops and simulators that are sure to be popular with the many school and university students expected during the week.
In the air, for those unable to attend on Saturday evening, you’ll have to wait until Sunday to see aircraft in flight. The many spectators expected to attend will thus be able to admire the AAE’s Phénix team, a Shark, a Nanchang UTVA, two PC21s from the city of Cognac, a Cessna 150 from the Association for the Preservation of World Aviation Heritage, Alternative Duo, and the paratroopers of the 35th Parachute Artillery Regiment from Tarbes… In short, a wonderful week is in store—provided the weather cooperates.
