As part of their training in 3D animated cinema, five students from the class of 2016 at the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques (ESMA) have produced an animated movie of exceptional quality, inspired by the life of the pilot Jacqueline Auriol.

Jacqueline Auriol, a famous French aviator, and the first female test pilot in France, made aviation history on August 15, 1953, becoming the first European woman to break the sound barrier.

In this wonderful short movie, we see her on board her Mystère IVA, talking poetically about the profound joy she experiences each time she takes off: “The aircraft, the air and me. We become one.”

Owing to the quality of the images, animation and narration, supported by original music enhancing the various scenes in the movie, this young, talented team pays wonderful tribute to an exceptional woman.

Watch the movie “L’Aviatrice,” also available on the ESMA YouTube channel.
