Thanks to the many reports by the first operators of the army’s photographic and cinematographic units, as well as donations from private collections, this work from ECPAD presents an exceptional photographic corpus.

In it, we find some of France’s 182 flying aces, including the famous René Fonck (credited with 75 certified and 52 probable victories), and Georges Guynemer (53 certified and 35 probable victories), who was dear to Marcel Dassault, designer of an Eclair propeller for the French flying ace’s Spad VII fighter plane.
