Published by the ADOSM association (Association for the Development of Navy Social Work), the illustrated book Le Charles de Gaulle takes us inside the most iconic French aircraft carrier.
After several weeks of observation on board the flagship of the French Navy, the author Carl Spriet has managed to recreate, through breathtakingly accurate sketches, the general atmosphere that prevails, and the day-to-day life of the sailors who are involved in this extraordinary human adventure.
The bold clear strokes by this artist from Lille bring life and movement to these 160 pages of drawings that also illustrate each of the daily high points for this floating city of 2,000 inhabitants: casting off, Rafale and Super Etendard landing and catapult-launches, maintenance operations, implementing operations, etc.
The ADOSM association, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2014, provides support to widows, orphans and former personnel from the French Navy who face serious difficulties, as well as their families or orphan children.
