Over half a century ago, on July 21, 1969, following a journey aboard Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong (NASA) and Buzz Aldrin (Air Force) set foot on the Moon, against the backdrop of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. In many ways, the impact of this advanced program is still felt today, and its influence has continued to advance space and aeronautical research in general.
