Marin et Pilote, “Servir en mer et dans les airs” [Sailor and Pilot, “Serving at sea and in the air”] is a book written by Ramon Josa that was published on November 8, 2018. In this autobiography, the author looks back over his career as a pilot, as well as his experience as a sailor.

After being granted French nationality, Ramon Josa achieved his dream by joining the navy as quartermaster boiler room mechanic, on an aircraft carrier called “La Fayette”. During this experience, he admired the “sailors of the sky” that he watched at length on the flight deck.
Determined to follow his dream, he managed to join a naval aviation pilot course that enabled him to take part in many operations led by aircraft carriers over the next 30 years. His career concluded at the naval construction company, DCN (Direction des constructions navales), where he worked on the project for the future “Charles de Gaulle” aircraft carrier.
