If you’re an aviation enthusiast, you won’t want to miss this book in honor of illustrator Romain Hugault, whose contribution to aviation comic books over the last twenty years is clearly unquestionable.

“Angel Wings”, “Au-delà des nuages”, “Pin-Up Wings”, “Le Pilote à l’Edelweiss”, “Le Grand Duc” … Five iconic comic books in fans’ eyes that have a common thread, and not just any common thread: Romain Hugault.

Following in his father’s footsteps, the illustrator, whose father was a pilot, found his calling early in life. He passed his pilot’s license at just 17, before contributing to various books for the French Air Force. He trained at the famous Estienne school of art and design where he cut his teeth as an illustrator, producing the comic book “Le Dernier Envol” shortly afterwards.

He has worked on more than twenty aviation comic books, making him one of France’s leading lights in the field. Not to mention his other contributions, including posters for air shows and other events.

With a style described as “retro-futuristic”, with the 1940s-1950s as his preferred period, his style is instantly recognizable. This book, which showcases his talent, is a well-deserved tribute to him.
