Paquet has published the fourth and last volume in the “Ciel de Guerre” (Sky of War) series, entitled “Opération Torch” (Operation Torch).

It features the pilots Etienne de Tournemire and André Marceau, former teammates in the famous fighter squadron “Les Diables Rouges” (The Red Devils). Now pitched against each other, they clash in the Syrian skies, one under English command, and the other loyal to the Vichy regime.

The last volume opens with the Allied landings in French North Africa, while Tournemire and his squadron unsuccessfully try to resist the British Spitfires and Hurricanes. A few months later, the Red Devils squadron, which had been dissolved in August 1940, is reformed in Casablanca in March 1943. Marceau must now complete his unit with pilots from the former Vichy forces. This is an opportunity for Tournemire to rejoin the Red Devils and fly alongside his former brother-in-arms.
