In this particularly well documented work (the album comes with an eight-page historical feature), author Vincent Brugeas has chosen to focus on the story of three men: Scotsman David Stirling, Irishman “Paddy” Mayne, and Australian Jock Lewes. In 1941, they founded the SAS, the famous Special Air Service of the British Armed Forces.

This first book tells the story of the difficult beginnings of the new elite unit led by Lieutenant David Stirling, who after intensive involvement in Egypt, was parachuted behind enemy lines in highly unfavorable meteorological conditions for his first real mission…
