Sponsored by Dassault Aviation, Dorine Bourneton is the first disabled female stunt pilot in the world. On May 18, 2019, the town of Clayes-sous-Bois opened its new gym, choosing to name it after the pilot.
Dorine Bourneton, the first disabled female stunt pilot, has fought long and hard to allow paraplegic pilots to make their passion into a career. Currently leader of the Bleue Ciel aerobatics team and a speaker at the International Paris Air Show (SIAE), the young woman has made a name for herself in the aeronautics world.
A gym is a highly symbolic place for Dorine Bourneton: a space for sharing, facing challenges and helping each other: essential principles in our pilot’s journey. The Clayes-sous-Bois gym, formerly known as “Maurice Baquet”, has been entirely renovated after two years of work, and renamed the “Dorine Bourneton Gym”. The community wanted the name of a French sportswoman who fights for a good cause, and the pilot quickly became an obvious choice.
