As part of a show broadcast on Christmas Eve to support French troops abroad, the singer flew on board an Air Force Rafale.
To celebrate Christmas 2018, the singer slipped into the shoes of a fighter jet pilot for 24 hours. Briefing on the flight and emergency procedures, operation of the ejection seat, response simulation, etc. The singer experienced the everyday life of a real Rafale pilot from behind the scenes. Before taking off, the winner of “The Voice” Season 3 put on the “anti-G” suit that allows Rafale pilots to remain conscious during aircraft accelerations. In flight, he was introduced to several speeds – 5G, 6G, etc. – and participated in a reconnaissance and interception exercise for a private plane experiencing difficulties. The highlight was when the singer took over the controls and experienced their sensitivity firsthand. In short, the flight on the Rafale was an experience he’ll never forget.
Presented by Michel Drucker et Marie-Sophie Lacarrau from the military base at Port-Bouët, in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), the show “Christmas with our soldiers” was designed to support French troops (Air Force, Navy and Army) stationed abroad. Recorded a few weeks earlier, the sequence with Kendji Girac was shot at the Mont-de-Marsan base (BA-118), in the company of the famous Normandie-Niémen regiment. As for the program, it featured a squadron of performers: singers Marc Lavoine, Jenifer and Anggun, the group Magic System (from the Ivory Coast), comedian Laurent Baffie, and others. Not to mention of course President Emmanuel Macron, who took the opportunity to speak to the French soldiers.
