If you are due to be in Paris between now and the end of March, don’t miss the photo exhibition “Meeting” at the Cercle National des Armées, located in the capital’s 8th arrondissement.

On show until March 30, this unmissable exhibition was created by two truly gifted aviation photographers. Georges Ariel Lévy and Erwan Garel. The two partners, whose works differ distinctly, have put their talent on display side by side to offer up a selection of 40 or so photos for visitors to contemplate (whether aviation enthusiasts or not), and to shine the spotlight on ‘the ambience of air shows’.

Georges Ariel Lévy’s work is more orientated towards dormant aircraft in their hangars with dark colors, in order to ‘convey the nature of silence’. In fact, upon viewing his photos, we asked him if he was ‘the Pierre Soulages of aircraft hangar photography’, at which he smiled and readily agreed.

As for Erwan Garel, a ‘pilot-photographer’ as he styles himself on his website, the shots that he takes are distinctly more aerial, i.e. “photographing aircraft in flight, using very specific coloring”, which is effectively the case, as you can see by looking at the left-hand photo on the poster for the exhibition.

Among the aircraft photographed by the two partners, is a Mirage III from Dassault, models from Boeing, Concorde and more, including vintage aircraft such as a Morane-Saulnier! In short, fans of aviation photography are bound to love it! Important: the number of visitors is limited to approximately 25 people per day for security reasons. Book now!
