Since December 17 and until the end of 2024, L’Envol des Pionniers, the museum in Toulouse, is holding an exhibition on one of the aviation legends who helped write the history of the Pink City: Pierre-Georges Latécoère.

You have until December 2024 to see it, but time flies, both in the air and on the ground! For this temporary exhibition, which is especially rich and rooted in local and regional history, the relatively recent museum (it opened in 2018), L’Envol des Pionniers invites you to embark on a voyage of discovery. And looks back on a life dedicated entirely – or almost entirely – to aeronautics: that of Pierre-Georges Latécoère.

To retrace the life and work of the man who was a true trailblazer in aviation during the inter-war years, with the development of airmail service and the creation of the famous Latécoère line, the Toulouse museum offers an experience punctuated by historical scenes and reconstructions. Content that is sure to transport visitors back to the 1920s and allow them to (re)discover the visionary spirit that characterized these years!

Interactive and entertaining, and therefore open and accessible to all audiences, the exhibition also covers contemporary aviation, offering visitors the chance to discover what current professionals (designers, engineers, and others) imagine about the future of aviation – and there still seems to be significant room for improvement. All of this on the very site where the Latécoère legend took off: that of a pioneer, indeed, but also that of a top-level entrepreneur.

Exhibition. “Pierre-Georges Latécoère, the future has wings.” Address: 6 rue Jacqueline Auriol, 31400 Toulouse. Until December 2024.
