Directed by Daniel Costelle, this documentary series retraces the history of aviation from its origins, the pioneering works of Leonardo da Vinci, to the aeronautics developments of the 1970s and the advent of business jets and modern airliners.

Directed by Daniel Costelle, this documentary series retraces the history of aviation from its origins, the pioneering works of Leonardo da Vinci, to the aeronautics developments of the 1970s and the advent of business jets and modern airliners.

The seven episodes of this documentary, packed with numerous archives documents, re-enactments and testimonies, give the viewer the opportunity to (re)discover the milestones in the history of aviation, from the epic of aeronautical inventions to the first transatlantic flight, through the role played by aviation in various conflicts, the expansion of air transportation and the rise of airmail.

The first three episodes, colored and remastered, are broadcasted on Sunday, February 10 at 9 pm on RMC Découverte. The channel broadcasts episodes 4 and 5 on Sunday, February 17, and episodes 6 and 7 on Sunday, February 24.
