In order to meet recruitment requirements, estimated at around 3,000 people, the French Air Force is deploying a wealth of imaginative ideas! Following a video campaign and a digital comic strip, it’s now time for a podcast.
The digital campaign led by the French Air Force started in 2017 with a collaboration with the Havas group, which suggested video profiles then a digital comic strip, and the campaign has now turned to a podcast. The latest operation to date (dubbed “Echo”), which was launched in October 2018, draws on accounts from around 150 pilots from within the ranks of the French Air Force.
These accounts are recorded by actors to offer episodes between 5 and 8 minutes long. With each episode, the listener finds themselves immersed in operations taking place in countries such as Afghanistan or Mali, with particularly realistic scenarios: including, for example, running out of fuel in the middle of a zone suspected of being home to a number of terrorists. Simply put, what better way to present reality and generate interest, particularly among the next Rafale pilots?
