The final installment in Buck Danny’s three-part adventure, “The Pact! – volume 58” recounts the pursuit of the unpredictable Lady X above the American desert.
In volumes 56 and 57, titled “Vostok Isn’t Answering…” and “Operation Vektor” respectively, Buck Danny and his two sidekicks, Tumb and Sonny, reached the most remote research station in the Antarctic. Lady X (real name Jane Hamilton) was also in this remote area of the world, sent on a dangerous mission along with heavily armed mercenaries.
Having got hold of a virus, Lady X was chased to the Tierra del Fuego (the southernmost tip of Chile and Argentina) by the three associates, who were assisted by the Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier and the French Air Force’s Rafale aircraft. Despite having to go through an immense area with a fine comb, and a number of traitors along the way, they manage to close in on their favorite enemy. However, Jane Hamilton is as beautiful as she is unpredictable…
In “The Pact!”, after having fallen into icy waters, Buck and Sonny wake up in the hospital, where they are rescued by Tumb, who prevents an undercover agent from taking their life. Once again, the trio embarks on the search for Lady X, this time on horseback in the desert landscape between Mexico and the United States. A turn of events will put Buck Danny and his friends on the trail of both her and the virus, for a gripping end where the reader will find out that one enemy may conceal another…
