August 1915. After proving that she was as capable as anyone of being a pilot in the first volume (set in the early days of World War I), Marie Marillac has been promoted to Sergeant and is in line to receive the Croix de Guerre for her heroic aerial efforts.

Soon, she is invited to Paris for an official reception, and the unveiling of a project involving medical transport by air. But a woman making a success of herself in the air combat world, right at the start of World War I, doesn’t go unnoticed, and is sure to arouse some degree of jealousy…

As a result, Marie becomes the target of a plot to prevent her from fulfilling her dream. Once the plot has been foiled, she sets out on a mission to transport medicine to the front. Traveling in the passenger seat this time, a mysterious aircraft gives chase to her plane, which crashes in the trenches, killing the pilot.

In no man’s land, Marie is forced to take refuge in an abandoned castle. And unfortunately, the challenges don’t stop there for the young woman. She owes her salvation solely to the intervention of a German airman, whose Fokker was shot down shortly prior…
