Jean-Yves Lazard

Director of the Argenteuil plant in 1975, Jean-Yves Lazard then promoted to deputy managing director in 1987, and subsequently managing director of production from 1989 to 1992.

Born on 12 June 1929, and top of the 1952 graduating class from École Centrale de Paris, he joined the Dassault prototypes design office in 1953.

He then moved to flight tests in 1955, where he was in charge of development of auxiliary rocket systems on the Mystère IV B-05 and Mirage I, before being appointed test engineer for the Mirage III in 1957.

Transferred to the Dassault Aviation plants in Argenteuil in 1961 as manufacturing engineer, he left the Company in 1963, to return in 1970 as Managing Director of the Seclin and Poitiers sites that were being created. He became the director of the Argenteuil plant in 1975, was then promoted to deputy managing director in 1987, and subsequently managing director of production from 1989 to 1992.

Engineer and managing director of production, Jean-Yves Lazard passed away on 12 February 2018 at the age of 88.
